    Happy New Year! May this year be the best year of your life!

    Happy New Year everyone.  Just some end of year notes on what we are up to around here.  First, we home school, we have a dairy farm and raise chickens.  We live an hour from civilization.  All the things we do are for good reasons, I think.  We home school because we believe that we should raise our children instead of letting public schools do it for us.  We raise dairy goats and chickens because we believe in whole foods and want the best nutrition for our family.  We live in the middle of no where in attempts to get out of debt in a society that lives and breathes bank loans.  So, we are a little strange.  I thinks it's OK to be different.  When I was young, all I wanted was to be like everyone else.  The better I could blend in with my friends, the better.  Having grown up, I have decided that what matters is being able to live with your choices and to do what you believe is pleasing to God.  Blending in is no longer important to me and I realize that wanting to blend in is a sign pf immaturity, or at least it was in my life.  May 2011 be the year you stand up for what you believe in!
