    My Grandfather Proudly Served His County and His Family

    George W. Shook spent his life giving.  He fought in World War II, raised two daughters and loved on his "brats" as he called his grandchildren.  He was a man of honor and integrity.  He died at home while caring for his wife who has become bed bound.  He lives on in all our memories today.  His marker is at his home in the mountains of North Carolina.
